The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced that Frenchmen Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between the 400–600 blocks daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning Thursday, June 19 through Thursday, July 3, to accommodate work related to the DPW773: Right of Way Improvements Project. The street will reopen to traffic at the end of each workday unless extended hours are required.
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) will perform safety improvements on General De Gaulle Drive near the U-turn at Rue Parc Fontaine on Friday, June 13, 2025, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. All work is expected to be completed in one day, weather permitting.

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning Monday, June 2, at 7 a.m., through Wednesday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m., Old Poydras Street will be closed to through traffic between S. Galvez Street and Bertrand Street. The temporary closure will allow DPW contractor Barriere Construction Co. LLC to complete street repairs as part of the DPW772: Right of Way Improvement Project. Local access will be maintained.

Department of Public Works (DPW) announced today that all school zone traffic cameras and flashing beacons have begun being deactivated for the summer break. The process is currently under way with all devices being deactivated to coincide with the last dates that each school will be in session for this school year. All devices will be fully deactivated by July 14th. The City of New Orleans (City) anticipates reactivating these systems when schools resume in August.

Beginning Tuesday, May 27, The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works contractor, RNGD Construction, LLC, will temporarily close the intersection at Mirabeau Avenue and Touro Street to begin roadway excavation in effort to finish roadway restoration in your area. This closure is expected to remain in effect for one month and will reopen approximately on June 20, 2025. Motorists will still have access to Mirabeau Avenue, eastbound and westbound lanes.

As of May 13, 2025, The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works contractor, RNGD Construction, LLC, will temporarily close the 5000 and 5100 blocks Southbound Lane of Frenchmen Street to begin mill and overlay work in effort to finish roadway restoration in your area. This closure is expected to remain in effect for two weeks and will reopen approximately on May 27, 2025. Motorist traveling on Frenchmen St. will be detoured to Timoleon St. to Elysian Fields Ave. or Selma St. to Elysian Fields Ave.
